Mein Start in die Ausbildung

My start in training

Our new trainees - Janina, Anna and Mairi - have started their training with us in August 2021 and report in this blog post about their start in the training.

Are you also still looking for an apprenticeship? Then apply here now for the start of training in September 2022.

Mairi Moysidou (1st year of apprenticeship)

In August 2021, I started my apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at PICARD.

Of course, I was also super nervous before my interview. However, I was able to overcome this nervousness at the beginning of the interview, as it was very pleasant and I therefore felt comfortable.

What I particularly like is that there is the opportunity for us to go through many different departments, which I think makes the training very interesting.

In addition, we are super supported here at PICARD and our trainers are always available to us.

At the moment I am in my third department, in the key account department (corporate groups).

Before that, I was in the control center and in production. So far, I've found all three departments interesting, because you learn new things in each department and can thus better understand the interrelationships.

In September 2021, I was also already able to experience the International Leather Goods Fair in Offenbach. Representatives and customers visited the fair to learn not only about current trends, but also about future trends. Thus we got to know better how to deal with our customers.

I made the right decision with PICARD and I am very happy to be able to work with many nice colleagues and to be able to develop both my personality and my profession.

What I also appreciate very much is that many trainees are learning here and you can exchange ideas with them at any time and organize events together, such as the summer party.

Janina Eid (1st year of apprenticeship)

I started my apprenticeship at PICARD in August 2021 and am now in my first year. In the first six months, I have already been able to gain a lot of impressions and I am happy to have chosen this company. At my job interview, I was very nervous, but without any reason, because I received a very warm welcome and my nervousness disappeared immediately.

At the beginning, we had a summer party, which was prepared and organized by us trainees. We had great impressions and were able to get to know each other better.

I am currently in the export department. This is the second department I'm in.

Here I am learning a lot about customers abroad and how to deal with them. Here you have to pay attention to a lot of things because we send the goods worldwide. However, this presents new challenges and, as you know, you grow with your tasks.

The course of the training is very well planned and gives us trainees a great rhythm in our everyday life. We are supported wherever possible and I appreciate this very much.

I was able to learn a lot in the last 5 months. Professionally as well as personally.

Anna Probsdorfer (19) (1st year of apprenticeship)

I started my apprenticeship as an industrial clerk in August 2021 at PICARD Lederwaren GmbH & Co. KG.

I made a conscious decision to train as an industrial clerk because I had already gained initial insights into everyday office life during my one-year internship at the technical secondary school. The various fields of activity aroused my interest.

What I like about the training at PICARD is that you get to know so many different departments. For example, there are departments such as: Accounting, Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Production and a few more.

My first department was the export department. I had very nice and helpful colleagues there who always helped me with questions. There was a lot to learn, especially at the beginning of the training. I was also allowed to attend a customer meeting.

I'm currently in the shipping department. Here I'm learning a lot about sending goods abroad, creating the relevant customs documents and registering shipments with forwarding portals.

I really enjoy my training at PICARD, the work in the individual departments is varied and we trainees get along great with each other.

In 2022, I'm looking forward to getting to know many more departments and applying and expanding the knowledge I've learned so far.
